Three health club employees jumped into action and saved the life of a Fremont California man. The quick thinking trio administered CPR and used an AED unit to restart his heart when he collapsed from cardiac arrest. Because of their valiant measures, they have been nominated to receive the Alameda County Siren Award.

(PRWEB) - ClubSport Fremont today announced that three of its staff members have been nominated to receive the Alameda County Siren Award. Tony Young, Program Marketing Director, Ladottye Williams, Service Director and Carissa Wallentiny, Member Account Representative were nominated as a result of their quick response during an incident that occurred on Friday March 5, 2010.

ClubSport Fremont member, Mr. Joseph Woo, experienced cardiac arrest following a game of tennis. The responsiveness of ClubSport staff members along with their training enabled them to effectively use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unit to revive Mr. Woo and keep him alive until Fremont Paramedics arrived. Mr. Woo was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment and is now recovering.

The Siren Award is awarded annually by the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services agency. The award recognizes an individual or a team of individuals from one or multiple agencies, who performed exceptional or heroic actions and/or exemplary teamwork in saving or attempting to save the life of another.

This years' celebration luncheon will be Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Wedgewood Banquet Center in Oakland at 12:00 pm. See the EMS website for more information.
