Leisure Sports, Inc. Purchases SportsNation
Pleasanton, CA – June 1999
As of June 1, 1999, SportsNation, located on Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard, became known as ClubSport
Oregon. Leisure Sports, Inc., a management and development company with 22 years of experience in the club
industry, and the Alamo Group, known for its real estate development throughout the Pacific Northwest
and California, teamed up to purchase SportsNation and bring the ClubSport concept to Oregon. This new
addition fits nicely into the Leisure Sports family of high quality, service-oriented sports and
fitness facilities.
The company currently owns and manages three multi-purpose clubs in Northern California. With the purchase of SportsNation, the Leisure Sports membership base now totals close to 25,000. ClubSport Oregon is a 140,000 square foot sports and fitness facility club featuring nine basketball/volleyball courts, a rock gym with 45-foot high walls, an indoor hockey/soccer arena, a fitness center, group exercise studio, child care center, full-service restaurant and sports bar. The club offers a variety of programs and services for all family members, including sports leagues and tournaments, lessons, camps, personal training and wellness seminars. "We are pleased with the opportunity to expand into Oregon," states Steve Gilmour, President of Leisure Sports.
"The SportsNation facility is unique and already has many of the qualities we value, including an excellent staff. We look forward to expanding the facilities and programs now offered while maintaining a strong emphasis on member service and the family environment."
Other ClubSport facilities are located in Fremont, Pleasanton and Walnut Creek, California.
